I was born in Asia, but I grew up here in Canada. I was a good student, acing my university-standardized tests and consistently achieving the highest possible marks in all of my classes. Although I studied Electrical engineering, after graduating I found my true calling as a teacher and started a very successful tutoring program, working with students after school to help them excel in their classes. I incorporated the best of the problem solving techniques from both Asia and here in North America for a well rounded method of success for my students. In the last 20 years, I have taught over 2,000 high school students, with a near perfect university entrance rate.

I love teaching. Helping young people succeed is hugely rewarding. I also love learning from my students. One thing I've learned in my two decades of interacting with students from all walks of life and many different ethnic backgrounds is that all students face many of the same challenges with their schoolwork. To help my students overcome these challenges and achieve their personal learning objectives, I developed a teaching system that is supported by proprietary learning aids.

StudyPug brings this proven teaching system online, making it widely and easily accessible to students in grades 10 to 12 who are struggling with one or more of their core subjects. I was born in Asia, but grew up and was trained as a teacher here in Canada, receiving my teaching degree from UBC in 2007. Over the past 10 years, I've taught at variety of tutoring centres and schools throughout the Greater Vancouver area. My teaching experience extends to high school science, physics, chemistry, biology and precalculus.

I am known to students and parents as an enthusiastic, diligent, positive and compassionate teacher who quickly builds rapport with students through fun, engaging lessons. I recognize that every student is unique and believe that inspiring a student's imagination is just as important as leading them to academic success.

The Rest of the Team

The rest of us are programmers, artists, accountants, lawyers, office support staff and project managers. Most of us have worked with Dennis and his teachers for many years. Some of us even grew up and went to school with Dennis. We've held positions in big companies and built our own very successful businesses. We chose to join the StudyPug team because we believe that education in the 21st century needs to be reset to meet the needs of today's students. There are so many amazing technologies available; it's time to bring these innovations to education in order to unlock the potential of the next generation.
